Pre-test

I'm sequestered in my apartment, and I can't help but want to yell out "are we there yet?" I have one final and a paper to go before winter break begins. The final convenes at 8:30 tomorrow morning with an approximate commencement of about 11:30, give or take (3 hours - shortish on the law school scheme of things, but closed book so perhaps the extra minutes alloted for desperate outline flipping needn't be included). The paper will commence and convene shortly thereafter. It's outlined, despite my original plan to completely ignore it until after the tests were done. It needn't be good, just finished by 4:30 tomorrow (the one joy of a mastery class with the "final" held three weeks into the quarter is that you know exactly where you stand and what you need to do to get the points you need). Laptop has been checked, test software in good enough order, exam number written down, blue books backed up, pencils convened, and snacks prepared.

My brain is quite full - so full that I suspect I'd best lay very still and avoid movement lest a letter or two from the billion acronyms that clog my neurons and define all of healthlaw come tumbling out into my tea.

Stressed, of course. Tired, no doubt. Yesterday, I was running a slight fever and endured a series of half-minded mishaps involving poor parking decisions and attempted purchases with misplaced wallets. After the hot shower I planned decided to peter out at room temperature, I think I called the day a wash (har har). The half-assed celebratory pie and cider I'd purchased for a semi-feasible short notice anniversary observance remained unobserved in the fridge, since I had fairly passed out by the time Andrew arrived. Now I'm just calm. Focused. Par for the finals week course, naturally. Less than 24 hours until I'm done, though. And oddly enough... still way less stressful than last year.

Wish me luck!

I'm glad we at least got to curl up together, even if the agenda was dominated by sleep.

Fortunately, I did wish you luck and energy and all the rest and you did it! It's amazing to think about after, huh?
