Survived

Why hello there internet, how are you? I've been awfully coy, I know. Naturally this is part of my hard-to-get strategy to make this blog bog down with unfamiliar readers who will validate my sense of being by objectifying my life and "thoughts" into some sort of disembodied experience.

Anyways, I am officially on spring break, which is code for "I survived finals with all of my limbs (and perhaps some of my dignity) intact." I believe I bombed my first final ever, which is almost exciting, although I did so in a less than epic fashion: instead of ambling into the finals room drunk and dressed in a pink, sparkly kangaroo suit, and proceeded to write "I am a Fish" four hundred times before saluting and passing out in my own drool, I just spent about three hours writing about the "wrong issue" on a test that attempted to crystalize our entire 100 cases' and multiple major constitutional issues' of  knowledge into a single case and a single issue. This of course being on the first test that was 100% of my grade. Sadly, I actually was really well-prepared for this test despite my dislike for the teacher and format. On the other hand, there's something almost satisfying about having just gotten down and dirty and broken the pristine loveliness that was my otherwise spectacular GPA. We'll see if I still feel so secretly satisfied in a month or two when I get my actual GPA napalm. Of course, due to the mandatory curve system, it's all rather unclear what any of "missed the entire test" actually means. If I was really lucky, a bunch of students bombed the test and it won't destroy my grades. Anyways, usually I resent the curve for pitting me against the best and the brightest for very few high marks, but it could be an ally for once! Fingers crossed.

But enough about stupid tests and a long gone quarter. On to bigger and better things. I've managed to read a whole pleasure read and a half. I'm also still working, but work is much more satisfying than studying. And this weekend I attended my first muddy-boyz-in-spandex extravaganza ... I think bikes were involved, since Andrew brought his along and there was some talk of racing it when there. It's a ridiculously short break, but I'm feeling like I'm getting my money's worth for the whole puny little week.
